The Tandem Learning Program is a platform in which Kyushu University students will be able to learn English, Japanese, and many other languages with the help of a tandem partner. 日本語はこちらへ
Its principle is very simple: You exchange your native language with a tandem partner, who ideally is a native speaker of the language of your interest. Your tandem partner, in return, exchanges their native language with you. In this way, you both can improve your skill in a foreign language or learn it from scratch. The advantage is that your meetings can take place in a very informal surrounding: a café, in a park while having a picnic,…etc. You can enjoy yourself while learning a language. The only prerequisite would be that you get along well with your tandem partner.
［To participate in this program］ First, please fill this form and indicate your personal information and the profile of the perfect partner for you in learning your language of interest. We will use your information only for the purpose of finding your tandem partner. Second, the Tandem organizing team will find you an optimal partner from among other applicants. Third, you and your partner will join a guidance meeting where we will explain how to proceed with this program and give you tips on how to make the best of this experience. From then on, you and your partner will plan and schedule your own language exchange meetings to support each other in the process of language learning. How often you will meet and what you will do in the sessions is all up to the partners! We will be having optional group sessions and parties during the semester where you can meet other participants of this program. Give it a try by filling this form. [Duration] The duration of this program will be from the end of October or the beginning of November until the end of the semester.

Note: The pairing will be done in the order of application. We may not be able to find you a partner, but you will be informed if that is the case. Please also note that all your requirements for a partner might not be met in the pairing process.
